Sleep is a function which as vital to the body as respiration, digestion and immunity. Sleeping facilitates numerous physiological functions, such as replenishing energy reserves, producing hormones, stimulating the immune defence systems, eliminating toxins, etc. The relationship between sleep quality and health is recognised and has attracted a lot of attention, particularly since current levels of poor quality sleep have become a public health issue.
