The advent of COVID-19 has transformed the medical and scientific literature. La Revue des Microbiotes’s scientific and editorial committee felt compelled to respond and have produced a special edition that provides the essential information necessary for a better understanding of the strong links between microbiota, immunity and SARS-CoV-2.
In addition to an overview of the microbiology involved, this edition examines the data which reveals the interactions between the virus and the microbiota and presents the consequences of these interactions on the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system. The practical aspects are not forgotten in fields that receive less attention, such as the perinatal period and paediatrics.
